Jijel (formerly Djidjelli) is a coastal town in northeastern Algeria (Jijel Wilaya), on the Mediterranean. A small Jewish community lived there in the nineteenth century and in the first half of the twentieth century, integrated into the Algerian Jewish diaspora and holding French citizenship since the Crémieux decree. They left Algeria in 1962.
