Ville espagnole, dans l'évêché de Cuenca. Une communauté juive considérable y vivait au treizième siècle. La ville est surtout connue en raison du "Padron de Huete," la répartition, en 1290, des taxes que les Juifs de Castille étaient tenus de payer au roi, ou aux prélats, magnats, chapitres cathédraux, grands maîtres, etc. En 1391 beaucoup de Juifs de Huete furent tués ou forcés d'accepter le baptême. Joseph ha-Kohen dit que ses grands-parents, qui furent expulsés de Cuenca en 1414, trouvèrent protection et asile à Huete, son lieu de naissance. L'aljama de cette ville paya des taxes à concurrence de 5 700 maravédis encore en 1474.
