Harburg (in Swabia) is a town in southern Bavaria, in the county of the princes of Öttingen-Wallerstein. A Jewish community placed under the protection of these princes developed there, with a synagogue and preserved communal archives, constituting a notable example of a rural Jewish community in modern Germany.
