Guebwiller (Gebweiler), a town in the Haut-Rhin, was home to a consistorial Jewish community in the nineteenth century, with a synagogue built under the First Empire. It forms part of the network of Jewish communities in the Haut-Rhin organized following the Napoleonic decree of 1808.
