Forcalquier, former capital of the County of Forcalquier in Haute-Provence, sheltered a notable medieval Jewish community in the 12th–14th centuries, known through notarial deeds and tax registers. As throughout Provence, the community was expelled at the time of the French annexation of 1501.

The days of this book

This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Forcalquier give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.

You know a date — a remembrance, a hilloula, the anniversary of a departure? Give it its day
