Erzincan is a city in eastern Anatolia (Turkey) that received Sephardic refugees after the expulsion from Spain in 1492. The Jewish community remained there until the 19th century before declining with the general withdrawal of Jews from inner Anatolian cities toward Istanbul and Izmir.
