The Beth Chaim cemetery of Curaçao, founded in 1659 in Willemstad, is one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in the Americas and the oldest in continuous use in the New World. Its tombstones engraved in Hebrew, Portuguese, and Spanish bear witness to the Sephardic origin of the community and constitute an irreplaceable source for the genealogy of Caribbean Jews.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
