Cheul-Korlai (Chaul), a coastal site of the Konkan in Maharashtra, is associated with the ancient presence of the Bene Israel: local place names and a cemetery attest a communal settlement which, according to tradition, dates back to the time of the original shipwreck.

Great Book being written

This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.

The days of this book

This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Cheul-Korlai give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.

You know a date — a remembrance, a hilloula, the anniversary of a departure? Give it its day
