BORISPOL
Ville en Russie, au gouvernement de Kiev. En 1897, elle comptait 4,400 habitants, dont 1,652 Juifs. Elle possède une synagogue et une école confessionnelle. À Borispol, comme dans beaucoup d'autres villes russes, les Juifs sont en grande partie marchands et artisans. La ville a produit plusieurs talmudistes distingués.

Un village dans le district de Pereyaslav, gouvernement de Poltava. Sa population de 10 000 habitants comprend environ 1 000 Juifs. Parmi ces derniers, 157 sont artisans. L'instruction au Talmud Torah est donnée à 114 enfants juifs, les autres fréquentant cinq écoles élémentaires. De 1648 à 1649, de nombreuses familles juives ont été tuées à Borispol par les Cosaques sous Chmielnicki.
