Intersection register · custodian, not owner
Belém do Pará, the capital of Pará State and the main gateway to the Brazilian Amazon, welcomed from the 19th century Moroccan Sephardic Jews engaged in Amazonian trade and rubber collection. Successive waves of Ashkenazi immigrants from Eastern Europe joined them in the early 20th century. The city preserves a synagogue and a Jewish cemetery bearing witness to this communal history.

The days of this book
This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Belém do Pará give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.
