Basse-Terre is the capital of French Guadeloupe. A Judeo-Portuguese community was tolerated there in the 17th century, before being expelled a few decades later when anti-Protestant and anti-Jewish edicts were strictly enforced in the French colonies.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
