A village at the entrance to the Ourika valley in the Moroccan High Atlas, Asni was home to a small Jewish community integrated into the local agropastoral economy. Like most rural communities of the High Atlas, it emigrated almost entirely to Marrakech and then to Israel and France during the twentieth century.

The days of this book

This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Asni give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.

You know a date — a remembrance, a hilloula, the anniversary of a departure? Give it its day
