Ambober, a village in the Gondar region (Ethiopia), was home to a Beta Israel community whose presence is documented since the 16th century. As in other Beta Israel villages in northern Ethiopia, its inhabitants practiced farming, blacksmithing, and pottery, maintaining distinct religious observances until their gradual emigration to Israel in the 20th century.
