Agde, a Mediterranean port of the Languedoc founded by Greek settlers, had a medieval Jewish community attested by local sources between the 11th and 14th centuries. Its presence was part of the network of Jewish communities in Lower Languedoc prior to the expulsions from the kingdom of France.
