The official representative body of the Jewish communities of Morocco, the Council of Israelite Communities of Morocco (CCIM) is the institutional heir of the communal structures that governed Jewish life under the Protectorate. It oversees the synagogues still in operation, Jewish cemeteries, schools of the Alliance Israélite Universelle remaining in Morocco, and the Jewish Museum of Casablanca. The CCIM maintains official relations with the Moroccan Royal Palace in the context of Morocco's policy of preserving its Hebrew heritage. It coordinates the annual pilgrimages to holy sites (hiloula) that attract tens of thousands of Jews of Moroccan origin each year.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
