Region: Skopje, Macédoine du Nord
History register · custodian, not owner
Inaugurated on 11 March 2011, exactly 68 years after the deportation of 7,148 Jews from Macedonia to Treblinka, this center is located in the historic Jewish quarter of Skopje. Its permanent exhibition in 21 sections, opened in 2018, traces the history of the Jews of the Balkans and their annihilation under Bulgarian occupation in alliance with the Nazis. It is the only institution dedicated exclusively to the Holocaust in North Macedonia.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
