Research and teaching center founded in the 1970s at the Université Paris-Sorbonne, offering programs in Hebrew studies, Jewish history, and Jewish literature from the ancient Mediterranean world to the contemporary era. It integrated studies in Judeo-Arabic languages (Judeo-Berber, Judeo-Spanish) into its curriculum. Scholars such as Gérard Nahon and Mireille Hadas-Lebel taught there.
