Distinct from the general library of the Alliance israélite universelle, the Mosseri collection is a major sub-collection acquired in 1970 and originating from the Cairo collection of the Mosseri family. It holds fragments of the Cairo Genizah — complementary to the Taylor-Schechter — as well as Judeo-Arabic manuscripts and documents from the medieval Egyptian Jewish community. This collection has been the subject of a partial digitisation programme by the Bibliothèque nationale de France. It constitutes one of the most important collections of Genizah fragments outside Cambridge.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
