Founded on November 27, 1914 by the gathering of American Jewish relief committees to aid Jewish communities in Europe and the Near East during World War I. The principal worldwide Jewish humanitarian organization ("Rescue, Relief, Rehabilitation"), it operates in over 70 countries. Distinct entity from its archives.
