Fils cadet de Rebbe Mordechai Twersky, le Maggid de Tchernobyl, il fonde la cour hassidique de Rachmastrivka, branche de la dynastie de Tchernobyl. Il meurt le 4 Nissan 5655 (29 mars 1895) à Rachmastrivka. Sa lignée s'est reconstituée après la Shoah à Jérusalem et Boro Park.
