Rabbin d'Ożarów depuis 1811, disciple du Voyant de Lublin, du Yehudi ha-Kadosh de Przysucha et de l'Ohev Yisrael d'Apta. À la mort de Meïr d'Apta en 1827, ses hassidim le prirent pour rebbe ; ses fidèles se comptaient par milliers. Il s'installa à Opole vers la fin de sa vie et mourut en 1837.
