Co-fondateur en 1961, avec son ami d'enfance Al Gindi, du grand magasin de mode à prix réduit Century 21 à Lower Manhattan (jusqu'à 13 magasins avant la faillite de 2020). Membre de la communauté juive syrienne de Brooklyn, il fut président de la Magen David Yeshiva et contribua à implanter l'UJA dans la communauté syrienne.
