Figure dirigeante de la communauté juive blanche (Paradesi) de Cochin au XXᵉ siècle. Gendre de Samuel Koder (longtemps warden de la synagogue Paradesi), il en assura la direction, veillant notamment au maintien du minyan et à la gestion de la synagogue historique de Mattancherry. La 'Hallegua House' de la Synagogue Lane (Jew Town) est l'une des maisons emblématiques de la communauté.
