Sage yéménite né à Sanaa, réputé pour sa science halakhique ; il fut conseiller (« chef des conseillers ») de l'imam, comme le rapporte Yaakov Sapir lors de sa visite au Yémen en 1859. Il laissa plusieurs ouvrages de halakha, surtout sur les lois d'abattage rituel.
