Rabbin unique de la synagogue livournaise de Tunis et figure de la communauté « grana » (juifs livournais). Vétéran du sionisme tunisien, il prononça un discours remarqué sur la renaissance juive en Palestine. Ses obsèques imposantes eurent lieu en janvier 1941 devant la Grande synagogue de Tunis.
