L'un des trois membres du comité dirigeant de Hashomer (avec Israel Shochat et Mendel Portugali). Figure centrale de la défense des premières implantations juives de Galilée. À sa mort en 1918, le kibboutz fondé en 1916 par des membres de Hashomer est nommé Kfar Giladi en son honneur.
