Israeli-Italian philologist and scholar of Judeo-Italian language and medieval Jewish-Italian philosophy, professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; edited Moses of Salerno's 13th-century Hebrew-Italian philosophical glossary and wrote on Jewish Neoplatonism in the West. His death was marked by a memorial journal issue in his honor.
