Emilio Servadio was among the pioneers of psychoanalysis in Italy, contributing to the introduction and diffusion of Freudian thought in a country where it remained marginal. Like so many Jewish scholars and professionals, Emilio Servadio was forced into exile; he went to India, where he continued his work, before returning to Italy after the war. It also speaks of resilience — the capacity to reconstruct a work elsewhere, and to return.
