Communauté juive ashkénaze de Harare (anciennement Salisbury), fondée le 2 juin 1895, dont l'histoire a été documentée dans un ouvrage de 225 pages compilé par David Gelfand en septembre 2014 à partir de recherches archivistiques menées à Jérusalem. La communauté comptait plus de 650 âmes en 1926 et plus de 500 familles en 1964 ; elle ne rassemble plus qu'environ 50 membres aujourd'hui.
