Interactive World Atlas
All of memory seen from above — each place in the corpus set upon the map, from Mesopotamia to the Americas.
Principle
The Atlas is the universal cartographic gateway to the Zakhor heritage. It simultaneously projects manuscripts, objects, printed works, families, and communities onto a navigable world map, with layerable strata and chronological and thematic filters.
Planned features
Base map
Modern cartographic base layer (Mapbox GL JS or MapLibre) with an adaptable Mercator projection.
Stackable layers
Manuscripts, objects, printed works, communities, families — each toggled independently.
Period filters
Restrict the display to one or several of the 12 canonical periods.
Hotspots
Visualisation of densities of presence and production through heatmap / intelligent clustering.
3D / Globe view
Orthographic projection for a planetary vision and the grasp of continental axes.
Spatial search
Find all manuscripts produced within a given radius, or cross-reference places + period + type.
Implementation status
Planned for Phase 1 of the roadmap: a minimal atlas with markers by period, then progressive enrichment with clusters, heatmaps and a 3D view in Phase 3.
