La Bibliothèque universitaire de Leipzig possède une collection de manuscrits hébraïques et judéo-arabes enrichie par Karl Vollers et d'autres orientalistes du XIXe siècle. Elle renferme environ 250 manuscrits hébreux dont des commentaires médiévaux, des traités de philosophie juive et des fragments de prière ashkénazes. Ce fonds est catalogué dans la base de données Manuscripta Mediaevalia et partiellement numérisé. Leipzig ayant été un centre d'édition hébraïque (Steinschneider y travailla), la bibliothèque conserve aussi d'importants imprimés anciens.
Dieses Große Buch hat noch keine veröffentlichten Kapitel. Die Kapitel — jedes mit seinem Register, seinem epistemischen Status und seinen Quellen — werden im Zuge der redaktionellen Anreicherung und der assistierten Generierung hinzugefügt.
