The Tel Dan Stele, discovered in 1993–1994, is one of the most important archaeological discoveries for biblical history. This Old Aramaic inscription, attributed to King Hazael of Aram-Damascus, contains the first extra-biblical mention of the "House of David" (bytdwd), ending the debate about King David's historicity.
