Rabbik, tudósok, szerzők, építők vagy tanúk: bizonyos alakok rányomták bélyegüket lignée-jük, közösségük vagy egy egész nép történetére és emlékezetére. Az alakok Nagy Könyvei összegyűjtik ezeket a személyiségeket — életüket, művüket, örökségüket és a kötelékeket, amelyek a családokhoz és helyekhez fűzik őket. Élő galériája azoknak, akik az átadást hordozták.

Il répond aux déportations de fin 1941 par un long poème, « Lekh-Lekho », qui oppose le passé juif traditionnel au présent tragique, suivi d'un second poème sur l'expulsion, « Friling 1942 ». Il fut le mentor de la romancière Chava Rosenfarb dans le ghetto. Déporté à Auschwitz le 28 août 1944 et gazé. Ses deux poèmes, retrouvés dans les ruines du ghetto, furent publiés par la Commission historique juive en 1946.
