Late Antique synagogues in Galilee and elsewhere were paved with mosaics depicting the holy ark, menorah, zodiac, or biblical scenes, accompanied by donor inscriptions in Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek. Their fragments document synagogal art and liturgy.
