Pirke de-Rabbi Eliezer is a 54-chapter narrative midrash tracing biblical history from Creation through the wilderness period. Actually composed in 7th-century Palestine, it is the source of many famous aggadot and influenced later Jewish literature and medieval Christian iconography.
