Dating
The Ugaritic tablets, discovered from 1929 at Ras Shamra (Syria), are the most important source for understanding Canaanite religion. Written in one of the oldest known alphabets, they reveal striking parallels with biblical poetry: divine epithets, theophanic imagery, and sacrificial vocabulary.
