Region: Fès, Maroc
History register · custodian, not owner
Established in the historic mellah of Fès, this museum documents the thousand-year-old presence of Jews in one of the oldest imperial cities of Morocco. It is distinct from the Jewish Museum of Casablanca and focuses on the role of the Fassi communities in trans-Saharan trade, diplomacy, and intellectual life. The collections include Berber-Jewish jewellery, Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic manuscripts, ornate ketubot, and archival photographs of the mellah.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
