Located in Mechelen in the former barracks that served as a Nazi transit camp, from which 25,274 Jews and 354 Roma were deported to Auschwitz-Birkenau between 1942 and 1944. The museum, inaugurated in November 2012, documents the persecution of Jews and Roma in Belgium and northern France through archives, testimonies, and personal objects. It also houses the Documentation Center on the Holocaust in Belgium.
