Translation lies at the heart of the Zakhor mission. Thousands of pages of Hebrew manuscripts — rabbinic writings, commentaries, responsa, and treatises — remain inaccessible to most, for lack of translations into modern languages. Our collective is committed to an ambitious translation program on two complementary levels.
To render the overall meaning of each page of the manuscripts, in language accessible to all. The aim is to allow everyone — whatever their level of erudition and their language — to grasp the essence of the texts.
Thorough, precise, and scholarly work, carried out over the long term by specialists. Each word, each expression is analyzed in its linguistic, historical, and theological context.
