Quba (Kouba), a town in northern Azerbaijan, is the main center of the Mountain Jews (Juhuro) of the Caucasus. The Jewish quarter of Quba, known as Krasnaya Sloboda, is considered the only town populated entirely by Mountain Jews outside of Israel until the 20th century. The community, speaking Judeo-Tat, maintains synagogues and an active communal life there.
