Founded in 1968 in Gush Etzion by rabbis Yehuda Amital and Aharon Lichtenstein, Har Etzion is the most influential hesder yeshiva in the religious-Zionist world. It combines intensive Talmudic study with military service in the Israeli army. Recognized as a center of excellence of the Modern Orthodoxy (Dati Leumi) movement, it has trained thousands of rabbinic decisors, teachers, and Israeli religious leaders. Its online Torah study site (VBM) is a global pedagogical resource.
