Yeshivat hesder founded in 1967 in the Old City of Jerusalem shortly after the Six-Day War, at the initiative of Rabbi Aryeh Bina. Long directed by Rabbi Yeshayahu Hadari, it is one of the great religious-Zionist yeshivot, near the Western Wall.
