Yeshiva founded in 1896 by Rabbi Yosef Yozel Horowitz, the "Alter of Novardok," a disciple of Yisrael Salanter. It gave rise to an entire school of the Mussar movement, marked by radical ethical introspection, and spawned numerous branches before being annihilated by the Holocaust.
