Founded in Geneva in August 1936, the World Jewish Congress is the international federation of Jewish communities and organizations. Its headquarters was transferred to New York in 1940. It defines itself as "the diplomatic arm of the Jewish people" and maintains offices in Brussels, Jerusalem, Paris, Buenos Aires, and Geneva.
