Congregational arm of Reform Judaism in North America, founded on July 8, 1873 in Cincinnati by Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise under the name Union of American Hebrew Congregations. Renamed Union for Reform Judaism in 2003, it federates over 800 congregations and constitutes the largest Jewish denomination in the United States.
