Celebrated house of study of the Mussar movement founded around 1865 by Rabbi Simcha Zissel Ziv (Broida), the "Alter of Kelm," a disciple of Yisrael Salanter. Small but immensely influential, it formed the spiritual elite of Lithuanian Judaism before being destroyed during the Holocaust.
