Oldest and largest Sephardic charity society in the United States, founded in 1915–1916 under the name Ermandad Salonikiota de Amerika by Jewish immigrants from Salonika. It supports the social, educational, and religious welfare of Ladino-speaking Sephardic families from Turkey, Greece, and the Balkans, and works to preserve Judeo-Spanish language and culture.
