Opened in 1877, this Neolog seminary is the oldest rabbinical seminary still in operation in continental Europe. Founded under the impetus of Hungarian Reform Judaism, it welcomed students from Eastern European countries throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Scholars such as Wilhelm Bacher and Ludwig Blau taught there. It has been affiliated with ELTE University in Budapest since 1999.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
