Jewish museum inaugurated in 2001 in Istanbul, first installed in the former Zülfaris synagogue then transferred to Karaköy. Created by the 500th Anniversary Foundation (commemorating the Ottoman Empire's welcome of Sephardic Jews in 1492), it traces five centuries of history and the contribution of Turkish Jews. The only Jewish museum in the country.
