Center founded in 1972 by David Patterson to restore Jewish studies in Europe after the Holocaust, long located at Yarnton Manor near Oxford. Integrated into Oxford University, it combines research and teaching in Hebrew and Jewish studies and publishes the Journal of Jewish Studies. It is one of the principal European centers of the discipline.
